Regular Season Round 10: Silute - Perlas-MRU 89-75

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Perlas-MRU (7-3) against fifth ranked Silute (7-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Perlas-MRU was defeated by Silute in Silute 89-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Perlas-MRU. The game was mostly controlled by Silute. Perlas-MRU managed to win third quarter 26-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game, while Perlas-MRU only scored six points from the stripe. Silute had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Simas Raupys (195-94) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) did not help to save the game for Perlas-MRU. Guard Margiris Normantas (193-96) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Silute have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Perlas-MRU. Silute will meet bottom-ranked Ezerunas-Karys (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Perlas-MRU will play against Mazeikiai (#12) and hope to secure a win.
