A very interesting game took place in Joniskis. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked Delikatesas (3-7) to tenth ranked Vytis (4-6) 75-73 on Saturday evening. Delikatesas was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Vytis had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Point guard Gediminas Maceina (188-84) fired 15 points and 9 assists for the winners. Guard Edgaras Stanionis (194-88, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 19 points. Four Vytis players scored in double figures. Power forward Gediminas Zalalis (205-95) produced 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Domantas Simaitis (191-94) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Vytis have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Palanga. Delikatesas lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Vytis' next round opponent will be Petrochema (#10) in Jonava. Delikatesas will play on the road against Zalgiris II in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
