Regular Season Round 7: Itzehoe - Stahnsdorf 83-72

There was no surprise when 12th ranked RSV Eintracht (1-6) was defeated on the road by second ranked Itzehoe (5-2) 83-72. Itzehoe players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. 27 personal fouls committed by RSV Eintracht helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Stephan Shepherd (206-92, college: Bened.-Springfield) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Frederik Henningsen (198-88) accounted for 15 points and 5 assists for the winning side. American forward Josh Smith (203-94, college: Clemson) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Josh Adeyeye (195-93, college: Jacksonville) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for RSV Eintracht in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Itzehoe maintains second place in North with 5-2 record behind leader Bernau, which they share with Bochum. RSV Eintracht lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with six games lost. Itzehoe's next round opponent will be Artland Dragons (#5) in Quakenbrueck. RSV Eintracht will play at home against SC Rist Wedel (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
