Regular Season Round 5: Best Balikesir - Banvit BK 98-102

Bottom-ranked Balikesir is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to leader Banvit (5-0) 102-98. Banvit shot 61.9 percent from the field. Banvit outrebounded Balikesir 27-16. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) who scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Randy Culpepper (183-89, college: UTEP, agency: Inception Sports) produced 32 points and 4 steals and point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) added 16 points and 9 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Four Banvit and five Balikesir players scored in double figures. Banvit have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Newly promoted Balikesir still closes the standings with five games lost. Banvit's next round opponent will be Tofas (#11) in Bursa and are hoping to win another game. Balikesir will play on the road against Gaziantep and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
