Regular Season Round 7: Bakken - Randers 119-74

Leader Bakken delivered the fourth victory on Thursday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Randers (4-3) 119-74 in Aarhus. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Randers. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. Randers managed to win second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bakken dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Randers' 32. Bakken forced 24 Randers turnovers and outrebounded them 42-31 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Randers' players. American-Trinidad and Tobago guard Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) fired 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five Bakken players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Chris Nielsen (192-85) produced 24 points and American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bakken have a solid series of four victories in a row. Despite that victory Bakken went down to third position due to points difference. Randers at the other side keep the fifth place with three games lost. Bakken are looking forward to face league's leader Horsens IC in Horsens in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Randers will have a break next round.
