Regular Season Round 9: Acibadem - Socar Petkim 75-70

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Istanbul where ninth ranked Acibadem (5-4) beat 8th ranked Socar Petkim (5-4) 75-70 on Friday. Acibadem made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Acibadem outrebounded Socar Petkim 31-20 including 22 on the defensive glass. Socar Petkim was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Bracey Wright (191-84, college: Indiana) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Mutlu Demir (210-87) chipped in 15 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard T.J. Campbell (175-88, college: Portland) who recorded 23 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Alex Oriakhi (208-90, college: Connecticut) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Acibadem. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Samsun and Socar Petkim. Acibadem will face Duzce Belediye (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
