Very important is a road loss of second ranked Itzehoe (5-3) against fifth ranked Artland Dragons (5-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Itzehoe was defeated by Artland Dragons in Quakenbrueck 83-69. Artland Dragons made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Artland Dragons had a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American forward Gregory Graves (201-93, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who scored that evening 22 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Matthew Reid (185-84, college: Cameron, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 15 points and 8 assists. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 7 assists by naturalized Greek guard Kosta Karamatskos (194-86) did not help to save the game for Itzehoe. Forward Frederik Henningsen (198-88) added 12 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Artland Dragons moved-up to third place in North, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Itzehoe. Artland Dragons will meet RSV Eintracht (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Itzehoe will play against Rostock (#7) and hope to secure a win.
