Regular Season Round 7: Tofas - Gaziantep 72-87

There was a minor upset in Bursa where 11th ranked Tofas (2-5) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Gaziantep (2-5) 87-72 on Saturday. Gaziantep looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. Four Gaziantep players scored in double figures. Bulgarian power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) produced 21 points and 4 assists and the former international point guard Baris Ermis (194-85) added 7 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gaziantep moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Tofas. Tofas lost their third game in a row. Gaziantep will face league's leader Banvit in Balikesir in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
