Very important is a home loss of second ranked Limburg (7-3) against seventh ranked Koblenz (6-4) on Saturday night. Host Limburg was crushed by Koblenz in Limburg 87-65. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Limburg. They outrebounded Limburg 37-20 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Austrian-Dominican forward Carlos Novas Mateo (197-92, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds. British Louis Sayers (199-92) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Koblenz players scored in double figures. Lithuanian point guard Julius Zurna (188-86) replied with 18 points and power forward Kevin Yebo (202-96) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Limburg. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Koblenz moved-up to fourth place in South-West, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Limburg keeps the second position with three games lost. Koblenz will face Karlsruhe SC (#5) at home in the next round. Limburg will play against Mainz and hope to win that game.
