Regular Season Round 9: Wolfenbuettel - Rist Wedel 83-84

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (3-6) was edged at home by tenth ranked SC Rist Wedel (3-6) 84-83 on Sunday. Strangely Herzoege Wolfenbuettel outrebounded SC Rist Wedel 38-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Guard Rene Kindzeka (185-95, college: Hamburg BC) stepped up and scored 15 points and 9 assists for the winners and Lithuanian power forward Aurimas Adomaitis (205-87, college: LIU Brooklyn) chipped in 9 points and 12 rebounds. SC Rist Wedel's coach Felix Banobre used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Demetrius Ward (188-90, college: W.Michigan) with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and point guard Constantin Ebert (184-96) scored 16 points and 5 assists. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to ninth place in North, which they share with Wolfenbuettel. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel lost their third game in a row. SC Rist Wedel will face higher ranked AstroStars (#5) in Bochum in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
