Regular Season Round 11: Ehingen - Crailsheim 90-92

Fourteenth-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (3-8) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Crailsheim Merlins (9-2) in Allmendingen on Sunday. The visitors from Crailsheim managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ehingen/Urspringschule. Crailsheim Merlins looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Konrad Wysocki (202-82, college: Princeton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 19 points and 8 assists (on 7-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. American point guard Devon Moore (193-89, college: JMU) came up with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Tobias Jahn (204-86, college: Cal Poly Pomona) added 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Ehingen/Urspringschule in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Crailsheim Merlins. They maintain third place with 9-2 record behind leader Kirchheim. Newly promoted Ehingen/Urspringschule keeps the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will meet at home White Wings (#5) in the next round. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against the league's second-placed Mitteldeutscher BC (#2) in Weissenfels and hope to secure a win.
