The game between tenth ranked Zalgiris II (7-10) and 9th ranked Palanga (6-10) in Kaunas on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Zalgiris II outscored guests from Palanga 86-64. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-64. The winners were led by power forward Laurynas Birutis (213-97) who scored that evening 22 points and Gytis Masiulis (206-98) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Coach Tomas Masiulis's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 24 points by Canadian forward Kadeem Green (206, college: Ryerson, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Palanga. Vitalijus Kozys (198-99) added 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Zalgiris II moved-up to ninth place. Palanga lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Zalgiris II will meet at home Mazeikiai (#11) in the next round. Palanga will play against Silute and hope to secure a win.
