Regular Season Round 17: Ezerunas-Karys - KTU 76-74

Bottom-ranked Ezerunas-Karys managed to get the second consecutive victory on Friday night. This time they edged eighth-ranked KTU in Moletai 76-74. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But KTU won third quarter 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Eimantas Narusis (200-86) who scored 6 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists. Center Pranas Skurdauskas (208-88, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ezerunas-Karys players scored in double figures. Guard Aidas Kavaliauskas (185-95) produced 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Deividas Poguzinskas (202-95, college: High School) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. KTU's coach Vytautas Pliauga tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ezerunas-Karys maintains fourteenth place with 3-13 record. Newly promoted KTU dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Ezerunas-Karys will meet higher ranked Delikatesas (#12) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KTU will play against Palanga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
