Very predictable result when seventh ranked Samsun (8-5) rolled over at home 16th ranked Duzce Belediye (3-10) 77-57. Samsun had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. American point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville, agency: HMS) fired 25 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Guinean-American forward Ousmane Drame (206-93, college: Quinnipiac) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St.) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (183-87, college: Wisconsin) added 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Samsun moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Socar Petkim and Acibadem. Duzce Belediye at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourteenth position with ten games lost. Samsun's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Eskisehir Basket in Edirne and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Duzce Belediye will play at home against Bandirma Kir. (#10) and hope to win that game.
