An interesting game for Lukoil Acad. (7-1) which played road game in Samokov against 4th ranked Rilski (4-3). First ranked Lukoil Acad. managed to get a 4-point victory 94-90. Lukoil Acad. made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Ukrainian power forward Maxym Korniyenko (205-87, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Yordan Bozov (191-79) added 20 points and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in the effort for Rilski. Four Rilski players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-1 record. Rilski at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Akademik PL. Lukoil Acad. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rilski will play on the road against Academik Plovdiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
