Regular Season Round 12: Bernau - Bochum 63-73

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked SSV Lok Bernau (9-3) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked AstroStars (8-4) 73-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SSV Lok Bernau. AstroStars forced 19 SSV Lok Bernau turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by SSV Lok Bernau's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Clay Wilson (191-92, college: Princeton) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and the other American import point guard Gary Johnson (188-82, college: Cent.Florida) who added 12 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Four AstroStars players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW, agency: Dynamics Global Management) with 21 points and guard Nico Adamczak (191-90) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AstroStars moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Iserlohn and Oldenburg. Newly promoted SSV Lok Bernau still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Art.Dragons.
