Regular Season Round 13: Hertener Loewen - Ibbenbueren 85-81

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both first ranked Hertener Loewen and 11th ranked Ibbenbueren had identical 3-9 record. This time Hertener Loewen used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Ibbenbueren 85-81 on Saturday night. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a key game for the top position in West. Ibbenbueren was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for British guard Kofi Josephs (198, college: Fort Lewis) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds. American KJ Sherrill (203-91, college: Augusta) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. American guard Chris Hortman (190-88, college: Wisc.-Stout) answered with a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists and Dutch center Maikel-Bastiaan Post (207-85) added 20 points (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Ibbenbueren. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Hertener Loewen maintains first place in West with 4-9 record. Ibbenbueren lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Hertener Loewen will face Grevenbroich (#4) at home in the next round. Ibbenbueren will play against Hagen-Haspe (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
