Regular Season Round 13: Randers - Naestved 75-93

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Randers (6-7) were defeated at home by seventh ranked Naestved (4-7) 93-75. The game without a history. Naestved led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American-Nigerian forward Patrick Onwenu (198-93, college: Alcorn St.) nailed 26 points for the winning side and Senegalese power forward Cheikh Sane (207-92, college: Marshall, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 12 points and 13 rebounds. Five Naestved players scored in double figures. American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) came up with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international swingman Chris Nielsen (193-85) added 25 points and 4 assists respectively for Randers in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naestved moved-up to sixth place. Randers lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Naestved will play against SISU (#7) in Copenhagen in the next round. Randers will play on the road against Svendborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
