Regular Season Round 13: Sf.Gheorghe - Sirius TgM 85-80

Liga Nationala top team - Sf.Gheorghe (12-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eighth ranked Sirius TgM (3-10) in Sfantu Gheorghe 85-80. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sirius TgM won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sirius TgM was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Chucky Jeffery (178-91, college: Colorado) nailed 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Amanda Thompson (178-87, college: Oklahoma) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Sf.Gheorghe players scored in double figures. Guard Angel Robinson (170-89, college: Marquette, agency: LBM Management) came up with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Cherise Daniel (180-87, college: Ohio St.) added 26 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Sirius TgM in the defeat. Sf.Gheorghe have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. Newly promoted Sirius TgM dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Sf.Gheorghe will play against ICIM Arad (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sirius TgM will play against Alexandria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
