Regular Season Round 13: Politekhn.Lvov - Khimik-2 93-78

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Khimik-2 (9-4) against fourth ranked Politekhn.Lvov (7-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Khimik-2 was defeated by Politekhn.Lvov in Lviv 93-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Khimik-2. The game without a history. Politekhn.Lvov led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Khimik-2's 20. They outrebounded Khimik-2 47-35 including 17 on the offensive glass. Politekhn.Lvov players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Roman Novikov (204-92, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Andriy Kobets (192-93, agency: AproK Sports Group) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five Politekhn.Lvov players scored in double figures. Forward Artem Kovalov (202-97, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and point guard Vadym Kozak (182-99) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Khimik-2. Khimik-2's coach Aleksandr Paschenko rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Politekhn.Lvov maintains fourth place with 7-5 record. Khimik-2 at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
