Regular Season Round 15: Randers - Horsholm 87-86

The most exciting game of round 15 in the Ligaen took place in Randers. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Horsholm (6-6) to fifth ranked Randers (7-8) 87-86 in the game for the fourth place. Horsholm cut a 14-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. It was a good game for American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) who saved his team from a defeat with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international swingman Chris Nielsen (193-85) contributed with 29 points for the winners. Randers' coach Morten Hansen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American Jyles Smith (209-92, college: Savannah St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and the former international point guard Frederik Nielsen (178-88) added 15 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Horsholm. Four Horsholm players scored in double figures. Randers moved-up to fourth place. Horsholm at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Randers are looking forward to face league's second-placed Bakken in Aarhus in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Horsholm will play at home against SISU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
