Very expected game when 14th ranked Bayreuth 2 (1-13) was edged at home by third ranked Treuchtlingen (11-2) 74-71 on Saturday. It was a great evening for guard Tim Eisenberger (197-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Florian Beierlein (195-95) helped adding 24 points. Four Treuchtlingen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Montigo Alford (175, college: Boise St.) with 26 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and power forward Nils Dejworek (207-95, college: Valdosta St.) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Treuchtlingen. They maintain third place in South-East with 11-2 record behind leader Coburg. Bayreuth 2 lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Treuchtlingen will face Oberhaching (#8) in Deisenhofen in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bayreuth 2 will play on the road against Schwabing (#6) and hope to win that game.
