Regular Season Round 15: Dorsten - Muenster 69-80

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Dorsten (9-6) was defeated at home by third ranked Muenster (12-3) 80-69 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American guard Gerrell Martin (190-93, college: LIU Brooklyn) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Forward Jan Koenig (201-93) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Muenster's coach Phillip Kappenstein used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was American David Golembiowski (203-89, college: SUNY Poly) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Bulgarian Lyuben Paskov (196-90) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Muenster keeps a position of West leader, which they share with Schwelm and Hagen BG. Loser Dorsten keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Muenster will face Ibbenbueren (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dorsten will play against Frintrop (#10) and hope to win that game.
