Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Fellbach (8-6) beat at home 13th ranked Heidelberg USC (3-11) 87-80 on Sunday. Fellbach forced 19 Heidelberg USC turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fellbach made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward Nick Mosley (203-88, college: Tarleton St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Polish point guard David Michalczyk (180-89) helped adding 18 points and 12 assists. The best for the losing side was Sascha Kailing (198-88) with 25 points and 6 rebounds and Morris Hintz (193-95) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Heidelberg USC's coach Ralf Schafer tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Fellbach maintains seventh place in South-West with 8-6 record. Heidelberg USC lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Fellbach will face higher ranked Koblenz (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
