There was no surprise in Diedorf where 12th ranked Topstar (3-11) was outplayed by tenth ranked Ansbach (5-9) 99-68 on Sunday. Ansbach had a 31-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 77.8 percentage. Ansbach looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points. Forward David Kurpiela (195) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). The best for the losing side was American forward Joshua Hart (198-90, college: Va Intermont) with 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Michael Dorsch (193-96) scored 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Topstar's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ansbach moved-up to ninth place in South-East, which they share with Rosenheim. Topstar lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Ansbach will face Herzogenaurach (#13) at home in the next round. Topstar will play against Zwickau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
