Regular Season Round 18: Ehingen - Chemnitz 89-97

Date: January 13, 2017
Very expected game in Allmendingen where 13th ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (5-13) was defeated by fourth ranked Chemnitz (12-5) 97-89 on Friday. Chemnitz made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Ehingen/Urspringschule's players. Forward Michael Fleischmann (205-86) scored 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American guard Kameron Taylor (198-94, college: Seton Hill) with 16 points and 6 assists and his fellow American import point guard Devon Moore (193-89, college: JMU) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ehingen/Urspringschule's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chemnitz maintains fourth position with 12-5 record. Newly promoted Ehingen/Urspringschule dropped to the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. Chemnitz will face Koeln Rh.Stars (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against White Wings (#6) in Hanau and hope to win that game.
