The most surprising game was the first loss of BasCats Heidelberg (11-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Rhein Main Baskets (5-6) 58-57. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 58-57. Lyndi Laborn stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Nelli Dietrich (169-89) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. Four Rhein Main Baskets players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Viktoria Krell (183-85, college: Lindsey Wilson) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and American point guard Serena Benavente (167-85, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 11 points and 4 assists. BasCats Heidelberg's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rhein Main Baskets moved-up to seventh place in South. BasCats Heidelberg at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Rhein Main Baskets are looking forward to face ASC Theresianum Mainz (#10) at home in the next round. BasCats Heidelberg will play against Weiterstadt (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
