Second Stage Round 3: Silute - Vytis 93-78

Silute (15-14) beat at home Vytis (14-15) by 15 points 93-78, which is the biggest margin this round on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 15 points. Silute shot 60.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Silute looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Brian Wanamaker (185-89, college: Texas Wesleyan) helped adding 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Wanamaker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Silute's coach Robertas Kuncaitis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Silute will have a break next round. Vytis will play on the road against Suduva-Mantinga (#1) in Marijampole and hope to win that game.
