Regular Season Round 21: Stevnsgade - Svendborg 84-106

Date: January 27, 2017
Bottom-ranked Stevnsgade is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 18th consecutive match to third ranked Svendborg (11-9) 106-84 on Friday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. Stevnsgade managed to win third quarter 30-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Svendborg shot 60.9 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. American players dominated the game. Forward Darious Moten (199-92, college: Mercer) nailed 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and guard Cameron Jones (193-93, college: Radford) accounted for 24 points and 5 rebounds. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Svendborg players scored in double figures. Svendborg's coach Arnar Gudjonsson felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Davie Champagnie (206-90, college: Martin Methodist) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and forward Nathan Gibbs (204-89, college: Westmont) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Stevnsgade in the defeat. Svendborg maintains third place with 11-9 record having five points less than leader Horsens IC. Loser Stevnsgade still closes the standings. Svendborg will meet Naestved (#4) on the road in the next round. Stevnsgade will play against the league's leader Horsens IC (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
