Very important is a home loss of second ranked Gmunden Swans (14-6) against seventh ranked Arkadia Lions (9-11) on Friday night. Host Gmunden Swans were defeated by Arkadia Lions in Gmunden 81-69. The game was mostly controlled by Arkadia Lions. Gmunden Swans was better in second period 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Gmunden Swans 32-20 including a 12-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Arkadia Lions players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Montenegrin center Milovan Draskovic (211-95, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and the former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 19 points and 4 steals. Five Arkadia Lions and four Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. Arkadia Lions maintains seventh place with 9-11 record. Gmunden Swans at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. Arkadia Lions will play against higher ranked Vienna (#6) in Wien in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gmunden Swans will play on the road against Furstenfeld Panthers (#5) and hope to get back on the winning track.
