Regular Season Round 21: Svendborg - Randers 77-80

The most exciting game of round 21 in the Ligaen took place in Svendborg. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd placed Svendborg (11-9) to sixth ranked Randers (9-12) 80-77 on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. 25 personal fouls committed by Svendborg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Nigerian-American guard Deuce Bello (193-92, college: E.Tenn.St.) who led his team to a victory with 29 points and 6 rebounds. American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Stefan Bonneau (177-87, college: LIU Post) answered with 27 points and Cameroonian forward Harding NaNa (203-81, college: Delaware) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Svendborg. Svendborg's coach Arnar Gudjonsson tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Randers maintains sixth place with 9-12 record. Svendborg at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Randers are looking forward to face league's second-placed Bakken in Aarhus in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Svendborg will play on the road against Naestved and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
