Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Demir IBB (6-11) and Balikesir (3-14), which took place in Buyukcekmece. Higher ranked Demir IBB lost at home to fifteenth ranked Balikesir 92-100 on Saturday. They made 34-of-40 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game, while Demir IBB only scored seventeen points from the stripe. Balikesir had a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Demir IBB was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Andrew Andrews (188-93, college: Washington, agency: Diamond Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 6 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). His fellow American import Austin Nichols (200-82, college: Humboldt St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Balikesir players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Balikesir maintains fifteenth place with 3-14 record. Demir IBB lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Balikesir will face league's second-placed Anadolu Efes in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
