Regular Season Round 17: Zolotoi Vek - Kremen-2 126-53

Everything went according to plan in Kirovograd where first ranked Zolotoi Vek (15-3) outscored 6th ranked Kremen-2 (2-16) 126-53 on Saturday. The game without a history. Zolotoi Vek led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kremen-2 to just 7 points in first quarter. Zolotoi Vek dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Kremen-2's 28 and made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game, while Kremen-2 only scored seven points from the stripe. Zolotoi Vek forced 23 Kremen-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 46-27 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Zolotoi Vek especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Kremen-2's players. Forward Olexandr Drobiazko (196-93, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) stepped up and scored 28 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and power forward Andriy Kulish (205-92) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Maxim Balashov (190-80, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with 28 points and guard Anton Mikhailenko (185-94) scored 7 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Zolotoi Vek. They maintain first place with 15-3 record. Kremen-2 lost their tenth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost. Zolotoi Vek will face league's leader Krivbas-2 in Kryvyi Rih in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kremen-2 will play on the road against SumDU (#5) in Sumy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
