There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (10-7) lost at home to eighth ranked Gaziantep (8-9) 92-79 on Saturday. American forward Davon Jefferson (204-86, college: USC) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds. Canadian-American guard Andrew Rautins (193-86, college: Syracuse) contributed with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Gaziantep players scored in double figures. American forward DaJuan Summers (203-88, college: Georgetown) answered with 24 points and 8 rebounds and Muhammed Baygul (191-92) added 20 points in the effort for Pinar Karsiyaka. Pinar Karsiyaka's coach Nenad Markovic tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Gaziantep. They maintain eighth place with 8-9 record, which they share with Yesilgiresun. Loser Pinar Karsiyaka dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Gaziantep will face higher ranked Darussafaka (#5) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
