Regular Season Round 19: Oberhaching - Ansbach 81-65

Everything could happen in Deisenhofen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Oberhaching and 8th ranked Ansbach had identical 8-9 record. This time Oberhaching used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Ansbach 81-65 on Sunday night. Oberhaching made 28-of-33 free shots (84.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Ansbach turnovers. It was a very good performance for American guard Omari Knox (188-86, college: Bloomfield) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Point guard Janosch Koegler (190-93) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American power forward Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) answered with 26 points (made all of his eight free throws) and center Jonathan Pospiech (203) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Ansbach. Ansbach's coach Dean Jenko rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Oberhaching. They moved-up to sixth place in South-East, which they share with Jena II and Schwabing. Loser Ansbach dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Oberhaching will face Zwickau (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ansbach will play against the league's leader Coburg and hope to win that game.
