No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (9-11) beat at home 9th ranked Licher Basket (7-13) 77-70 on Saturday. Dragons Rhoendorf made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Licher Basket was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Viktor Frankl-Maus (186-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 9 assists. Canadian forward Mike Lucier (201-92, college: Lambton) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Lamar Mallory (198-90, college: Glenville St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and forward Patrick Horstmann (201-87, college: Kaiser) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Licher Basket. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dragons Rhoendorf maintains seventh position in South with 9-11 record. Licher Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 13 games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf will face higher ranked Elchingen (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Licher Basket will play against BG Karlsruhe (#6) and hope to win that game.
