Regular Season Round 20: Oldenburg - Schalke 75-67

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Schalke (10-10) lost on the road to fourth ranked Oldenburg (13-7) 75-67 on Saturday. Power forward Marcel Kessen (207-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Lucien Schmikale (194-97) contributed with 10 points for the winners. American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Michael Agyapong (200-90) added 5 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Schalke. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Oldenburg moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Iserlohn. Newly promoted Schalke keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Oldenburg will face Rostock (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Schalke will play against Recklinghausen and hope to win that game.
