Second Stage Round 12: Vytis - Silute 97-94

The most exciting game of round 12 in the NKL took place in Sakiai. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Silute (18-18) to seventh ranked Vytis (19-18) 97-94 in the game for the sixth place. Silute was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 26-18 charge of Vytis, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 22 Silute turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Edvinas Jezukevicius (207-90) who helped to win the game recording 27 points (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) who added 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Vytis players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Simas Raupys (195-94) with 30 points and 6 rebounds and center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Silute's coach Robertas Kuncaitis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vytis have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Silute at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 18 games lost. Vytis will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Silute will play on the road against Perlas-MRU (#5) in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
