Regular Season Round 26: Bakken - Horsens IC 90-94

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Aarhus. First ranked Horsens IC faced second-ranked Bakken. Guests from Horsens (20-5) defeated host Bakken (19-4) 94-90. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 31-21 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Horsens IC made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Bakken turnovers. International guard Gabriel Lundberg (193-94) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Lawrence Alexander (190-91, college: N.Dakota St.) chipped in 20 points during the contest. Four Horsens IC players scored in double figures. American-Trinidad and Tobago guard Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and the former international swingman Thomas Laerke (195-91) scored 25 points. Bakken's coach Jakob Freil rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains first position with 20-5 record. Bakken at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Horsens IC will meet at home Randers (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Bakken will play against Naestved (#5) and hope to secure a win.
