Regular Season Round 22: Koblenz - Saarlouis/Dillingen 89-85

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Koblenz (14-7) defeated at home 12th ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (6-15) 89-85 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Koblenz looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Latvian center Martins Abele (213-90, college: Fairmont St.) fired 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Croatian point guard Zeljko Novak (184-89) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Lindsey Hughey (190-89, college: Weber St.) produced 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Bosnian center Muharem Mujkanovic (204-88) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Koblenz and four Saarlouis/Dillingen players scored in double figures. Koblenz have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South-West, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Saarlouis/Dillingen dropped to the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Koblenz will face Tuebingen II (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Saarlouis/Dillingen will play against Mainz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
