Regular Season Round 24: Zalgiris - Siauliai 101-50

Leader Zalgiris delivered the twenty second victory on Monday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Siauliai (3-21) 101-50 in Kaunas. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Siauliai's 24. Zalgiris looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of German power forward Isaiah Hartenstein (211-98) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 7 rebounds and Paulius Valinskas (190-95) who added 9 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Zalgiris' coach Sarunas Jasikevicius felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Ukrainian center Vladislav Korenyuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) with 17 points and swingman Lukas Aukstikalnis (196-95, agency: Duran International) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Zalgiris have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 22-2 record. Siauliai lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Zalgiris will meet at home Neptunas (#5) in the next round. Siauliai will play against Nevezis (#9) in Kedainiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
