Regular Season Round 25: Samsun - Final Genclik 104-66

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Samsun (14-10) outplayed at home 16th ranked Final Genclik (6-19) 104-66 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Final Genclik 43-22 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Samsun looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Final Genclik's players. Quite impressive performance for American point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward Mikael Hopkins (206, college: Georgetown) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Samsun players scored in double figures. American guard Anthony Tucker (193-89, college: MSU Moorhead) answered with 20 points and forward Atakan Denk (191-91) added 15 points in the effort for Final Genclik. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Samsun maintains eighth place with 14-10 record. Final Genclik lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 19 games lost. Samsun will face league's second-placed Sakarya BSB in Sakaraya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Final Genclik will play at home against Bandirma Kir. (#10) and hope to win that game.
