Silute cruised past Mazeikiai in the eighth-finals opener. The game was mostly controlled by Silute. Mazeikiai managed to win fourth quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Silute forced 25 Mazeikiai turnovers and outrebounded them 33-22 including 20 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) stepped up and scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American guard Brian Wanamaker (185-89, college: Texas Wesleyan) chipped in 13 points and 4 steals. Wanamaker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Silute players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mantas Serksnas (200-96) responded with 15 points and Aidas Einikis (195-96) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
