Regular Season Round 27: Svendborg - Horsholm 58-67

Date: March 2, 2017
An interesting game for Horsholm (14-11) which played road game in Svendborg against 4th placed Svendborg (13-13). Third ranked Horsholm managed to get a 9-point victory 67-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Svendborg. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Svendborg won third quarter 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Horsholm won last quarter 17-9. It was a great evening for American Jyles Smith (209-92, college: Savannah St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American-Haitian Marvin Dominique (201-91, college: St.Peter's, agency: Duran International) helped adding 20 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Cameroonian forward Harding NaNa (203-81, college: Delaware) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Stefan Bonneau (177-87, college: LIU Post) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Svendborg's coach Arnar Gudjonsson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Horsholm have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 14-11 record having eight points less than leader Horsens IC. Svendborg at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Horsholm will play against league's leader Horsens IC in Horsens in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Svendborg will play on the road against the league's second-placed Bakken in Aarhus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
