Regular Season Round 23: TSV Troester - Coburg 68-88

Rather predictable result when first ranked Coburg (20-1) rolled over 5th ranked TSV Troester (13-8) in Breitenguessbach 88-68 on Saturday. Coburg dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to TSV Troester's 34. Strangely TSV Troester outrebounded Coburg 38-23 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Jordan Burris (201-92, college: CS San Bernar.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Fabian Franke (198-88) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Coburg players scored in double figures. Forward Dimitry McDuffie (198-89) answered with 8 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Alexander Engel (191-93) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for TSV Troester. TSV Troester's coach Johannes Laub rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Coburg have an impressive series of nineteen victories in a row. Newly promoted Coburg maintains first place in South-East with 20-1 record. Loser TSV Troester keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Coburg will face Topstar (#11) in Diedorf in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TSV Troester will play on the road against the league's second-placed Bad Aibling (#2) and hope to win that game.
