Regular Season Round 26: Ehingen - Trier 75-82

Date: March 5, 2017
No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Gladiators (15-11) beat 13th ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (9-18) in Allmendingen 82-75. Gladiators players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Brandon Spearman (196-91, college: Hawaii) who scored 20 points. Power forward Johannes Joos (206-95) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Spearman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Gladiators players scored in double figures. Tobias Jahn (204-86, college: Cal Poly Pomona) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Daniel Berger (203-90, college: BYU-Hawaii, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gladiators have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Oettinger R. Ehingen/Urspringschule lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Gladiators' next round opponent will be higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (#3) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Ehingen/Urspringschule will play against Koeln Rh.Stars (#10) and hope to win that game.
