Second Stage Round 9: Alexandria - Sirius TgM 89-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Alexandria's (11-12) home victory over 9th ranked Sirius TgM (4-19) 89-69. Alexandria forced 19 Sirius TgM turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was forward Megan Mullings (186, college: Alaska-Anch.) who scored 27 points and 7 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Power forward Carla Bartee (182-85, college: Mississippi) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Alexandria players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Angel Robinson (170-89, college: Marquette, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 23 points and 8 assists and center Teonia McCune (196-93, college: Georgetown, KY) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alexandria maintains eighth place with 11-12 record. Newly promoted Sirius TgM keeps the ninth position with 19 games lost. Alexandria's next round opponent will be higher ranked ICIM Arad (#7) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sirius TgM will play against Iasi in Iasi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
