Fourteenth-ranked Duzce Belediye (10-20) made lots of trouble for ninth ranked Samsun (16-13) on Saturday. The visitors from Samsun managed to secure only two-point victory 66-64. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Duzce Belediye. American point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville, agency: HMS) scored 28 points to lead the charge for the winners and Caner Ercan (205-86) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (183-87, college: Wisconsin) with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St.) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Samsun moved-up to eighth place. Duzce Belediye at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 20 games lost. Samsun will meet at home league's leader Eskisehir Basket in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Duzce Belediye will play against Bandirma Kir. (#10) in Balikesir and hope to secure a win.
