Very predictable result when seventh ranked Gladiators (16-13) won against 12th ranked Nuernberg (11-18) in Trier 81-67. The best player for the winners was American swingman Brandon Spearman (196-91, college: Hawaii) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Simon Schmitz (188-90) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Spearman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Gladiators' coach Marco van den Berg allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) produced 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Sebastian Schroeder (192-88) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Gladiators moved-up to sixth place. Nuernberg at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 18 games lost.
