Regular Season Round 26: Schwenningen - Kaiserslautern 102-79

Date: March 25, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Kaiserslautern (10-15) was outscored on the road by first ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (21-4) 102-79 on Saturday. BV Villingen-Schwenningen dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Kaiserslautern's 44. BV Villingen-Schwenningen forced 20 Kaiserslautern turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. BV Villingen-Schwenningen looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Kaiserslautern's players. American forward Tabari Perry (203, college: Slippery Rock) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Bulgarian swingman Sergey Tsvetkov (196-88, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five BV Villingen-Schwenningen players scored in double figures. Naturalized Turkish swingman Genc Sefaja (196-92) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Hungarian guard Gergely Hosszu (190-86) added 21 points and 4 steals in the effort for Kaiserslautern. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. BV Villingen-Schwenningen maintains first position in South-West with 21-4 record. Loser Kaiserslautern dropped to the ninth place with 15 games lost. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will face Stuttgart (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kaiserslautern will play against Koblenz and hope to win that game.
